Howard Rundle was the fourth president of Fanshawe College. His official appointment became effective February 1, 1996.

He joined the college in 1972, and became Vice-President, Academic in 1988.
In addition, he was Acting President for a period in 1992/1993 and again from late 1993 to mid 1994.
Prior to becoming Vice President, he served as Director of Planning and Development, Director of Student Learning Resources, and Acting Dean of Health Sciences and Human Services.

Before Joining the College, he worked at York University in Toronto and at the University of Pittsburgh in research Science. Dr. Rundle has been a member of numerous provincial educational groups. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a PhD in Physical Chemistry.
